MetaSense, Inc. is seeking a travel Radiology Technician for a travel job in Brooklyn, New York.

Position Summary:

• Performs radiologic treatments for patients.
• Responsible for pre-treatment services and delivery of radiologic treatment.

• Treatment of patients:
• Arrange treatment appointments.
• Deliver radiation to patients in accordance with physician’s instructions.
• Operate all types of radiotherapy equipment, i.e., Cobalt Therapy Unit, Linear Accelerator, Simulator, etc.

• Operate simulator for localization of tumor size and position.
• Takes contours and collects all physical factors for treatment plans.
• Perform dosimetry for treatment plans.
• Take photographs of patients for portal verifications, etc.

• Recognize all types of radiation reactions and provides the proper care and instructions to patients.
• Educate patients with respect to radiation therapy reactions and also life style modifications.
• Instruct incoming Residents and technologists in the use of equipment.
• Prepare cerrobend alloy blocks.
• Fabricate plastic holders for blocks.
• Construct and fabricate patient immobilization devices.
• Take and develop radiographs.
• Maintain patient management room neat and orderly.
• Coordinate department with inpatient activities to provide proper patient care.
• When necessary, transports inpatients.
• Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.
• Position will be required to stoops, bends, lifts, carry items weighing or exerting force up to 75 pounds.

• Knowledge of radiologic equipment in use at BHMC Good patient interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and speak English Ability to fully utilize BHMC’s electronic record systems, equipment, and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.

• No prior experience required, preference for 6 months to one-year x-ray or radiologic experience preferred.

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of accredited radiologic program required.

• Certification in the operation of Radiologic equipment and treatment required.
