Description Class A/B CDL Driver with General Labor responsibilities For over 100 years, our goal at The DeLong Co., Inc. has been to provide information, products and services to the farming industry. We are currently looking for a CDL Driver who holds a Class A or B License for our posted location.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: - Work full time Monday - Friday 10 hour shifts
- Working hours will be 40+ with paid overtime after 8 hours in a day

Job Description of CDL Driver: CDL drivers are responsible for operating tractor-trailer/tandem equipment and maintain properly to transport material to designated location in a timely manner.
Essential Job Functions of Seasonal CDL Driver: - Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Work hours vary depending on workload, including nights and weekends during peak season.
- Safely operate Class A/B truck to transport material to job site often times driving on uneven or unfinished surface
- Must be able to climb up to 15 feet on ladders attached to truck or fertilizer tank.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 or 60 pounds as needed on uneven surfaces.
- Daily maintenance of equipment such as cleaning truck inside and out
- Recognize surroundings and practice traffic awareness to maintain a safe environment on the road and in the yard.
- Tarp load when needed, verify gates are closed.
- Clean spilled material/buildup off box
- During slower points in the season there will be general labor duties required by all CDL drivers as assigned
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written).
- Ability to read maps and navigate to new locations.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and recognize matters needing attention and initiate action on that recognition.
- Provide Delivery service as required by established delivery standards.
- Interact with customers and managers.
- Observing speed limits and obeying D.O.T. regulations
- Maintain daily accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle inspections, mileage, and deliveries using Samsara software.
CDL Driver Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, talk, walk and hear. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and climb ladders.
Requirements Position Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid CDL Class A or B
- ALL applicants must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and possess or be able to obtain a Federal Medical Card
Compensation details: 19-21 Hourly Wage
